W. Michael Short FacebookIcon.pngTwitterIcon.pngLinkedInIcon.png

Founding partner of Short Enterprises, an economic strategy and innovative development firm based in Central Upstate New York. Short Enterprises is serving as a lead developer on the Onondaga Commons Comprehensive Expansion & Urban Revitalization Initiatives. Short carefully guides the process of developing the organizational relationships necessary to successfully facilitate, apply for, and integrate a number of very large grant opportunities and funding partnerships that are crucial to the success of our large-scale urban revitalization initiatives currently underway.

Coordinating with a number of partners and Natural Systems Engineering, Short Enterprises also spearheaded the innovative green Infrastructure projects currently being installed across the 5.5 acre Onondaga Commons campus in downtown Syracuse. In total, and with over a million dollars in committed funding support from Onondaga County, the new installations will manage roughly 10 million gallons annually in rainwater runoff that would otherwise overload the local sewer system and result in raw sewage overflowing into our Community's local water systems

Michael is also spearheading the adaptive redevelopment of 506 W. Onondaga St., which will feature business incubation, co-working space, and live/work apartment units. The design is to connect entrepreneurs with opportunities, coaches, and new relationships with like minded forward thinking leaders. This effort is being undertaken in partnership with the NYS Small Business Development Center at Onondaga Community College.

Short Enterprises supports and guides our efforts in multiple capacities: Economic DevelopmentCommunity DevelopmentBusiness DevelopmentCollaboration FacilitationCommunications ManagementCommunication StrategyStrategic PlanningSite SelectionGrants & IncentivesProposal Development, Real Estate & Development AnalysisEconomic Impact Analysis, & Market Intelligence.
